  • WASHINGTON - secretary of Education Betsy DeVos 367 schools recognized today as National Blue Ribbon schools by 2020. the recognition is based on overall academic one school performance or progress in closing the Achievement gap between subgroups of students.

    "Congratulations to the National Blue Ribbon School Awards this year," said DeVos Secretary. "It is a privilege to recognize the extraordinary work they do to meet the needs of students and prepare them for a successful career and a meaningful life."

    The Schools Award coveted National Blue Ribbon affirms the hard work of educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where the main challenge students and engaging content. Now in its 38th year, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has awarded nearly 10,000 Awards to more than 9,000 schools, with some winning Multiple Awards schools. Schools are eligible for nomination after five years.

    The Department of Education recognizes all schools in one of two performance categories, based on all student scores, scores for the subgroup of students and graduation rates: < li> Exemplary high-performing schools - These are some of the most outstanding schools in the state, according to the evaluations of the state or national tests with standards

  • Exemplary Achievement Gap closing schools -. These are some of the highest performance state in closing the Achievement gap between groups of students from school and all students

    to 420 schools it can be nominated each year. The US Department of Education opens call the National School Blue Ribbon officer of higher education in all states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Department of Defense Education Activity and the Office Education in India. Private schools are nominated by the American Council for Private Education (CAPE).

    The 2020 Blue Ribbon Schools National Awards ceremony will be held virtually November 12 and 13. While we regret not having the opportunity to celebrate in person, given the current situation regarding COVID-19, we will celebrate the 317 public and 50 non-public school honorees in the ways that we can, and receive each of their plates and flags by mail.
