Moody's Investors Service analysts recently lowered the bond rating from the University of Rider, noting that the credit rating agency is increasingly concerned about the institution's precarious finances.

The rider's rating fell from BA1, and a non-investment. Rating of grade or "garbage" bonds: A BA2 earlier this month. These ratings indicate potential investors to invest in college are risky because the university may not be able to pay their debts.

"The Ba1 low-to-BA2 rating reflects the very weak operating performance of the University of Riders. In a line of credit and recent increase in leverage, largely for working capital needs "They wrote Moody's analysts. "While the university has articulated strategies to improve operations, a change, if it reaches it, it will take several years."
