    The Secretary of Education, Miguel Cardona, published today the following statement on President Biden's intention of nominating Sandra Bruce as Inspector General of the US Department of Education. UU:

    "ELO recommended the nomination of President Biden of Sandra Bruce to serve as Inspector General in the Department. Sandra has dedicated her Life to the public service, providing decades of experience in several federal agencies. His experience and integrity has made it an invaluable leader here in the department. I look forward to its rapid confirmation, continuous service and strong supervision of resources from the agency " .

    About Sandra Bruce

    Sandra D. Bruce, General Actuation Inspector of the Office of the US Department of Education. UU., The Office of the Inspector General, is a leader Results oriented with more than 30 years of experience in management, monitoring, managing and carrying out audit programs, inspections and complex investigations. Bruce joined the OIG in 2014 as Deputy Inspector and has been leading the office since 2018 when Inspector General Kathleen S. Tighe retired.

    Before joining OIG, Bruce was the General Assistant Inspection Inspector in the US Department of Energy. UU., A position he also carried out at the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency from 2006 to 2009. From 1997 to 2006, Bruce was a leader with the US Posterral Services Office. UU., Office of Inspector General, directing its law application of law and postal service and its computer-assisted audit techniques. From 1986 to 1997, Bruce was with the Audit Agency of the United States Army, where she began her public service career as an auditor, increasing an audit supervisor and associated programs. Bruce was also a legislative member for Senator Carl Levin. Bruce graduated from Indian River High School in his state of origin of Delaware.

    General Performance Inspector Bruce has received numerous awards for his work, including the Council of the General Inspectors on the Prize for Integrity and Efficiency (Cigie) par excellence, granting awards for distinguished performance, a prize of Exceptional performance and is a recipient of excellence at the Government Leadership Award presented by the Association of Government Accountants-Chapter of Philadelphia. Bruce is active in the General Community of the Inspector, who currently serves as a member of the Pandemic Response Response Committee, where he presents the Supervision Subcommittee of the GAO and State and Local of the Presk and is a member of the Working Group of the Financial sector of the Pract. Bruce also serves as president of the new diversity of Cigie, equity and inclusion of the Working Group, and is a member of the Cigie Audit Committee and the Cigie Information Technology Committee. Bruce worked previously at the General Working Group of the Deputy Inspector of Cigie and the General Group of General Inspectors of Intelligence Community Inspection General for inspection inspections.
