More than a year after the pandemic first interrupted higher education, the Transfer of registration fees among community colleges has continued to decline, according to a new report from the National Research Center of the Clearinghouse Center.

In the entire board, the Transfer registration decreased by almost 10 percent this spring compared to the same time of last year, according to the report. This decrease is concentrated in the Transfer paths towards and between the two-year institutions. The registration in the Transfer between colleges of two years, called lateral Transfer, fell by 13.8 percent this spring.

Reverse Transfer registration, defined as Transfers from a four-year institution to a two-year institution, decreased by 18 percent year over year, according to the report. Before the pandemic, the reverse Transfer rates had been increasing, said Doug Shapiro, executive director of the Clearing Chamber.
