  • the department Education of the United States (department) today announced that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will deliver pre-recorded comments during the National Summit of Reopening of Virtual High School, which will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 12 pm - 3:30 pm EDT. The Summit is one of a series of steps that the department is taking to provide support and resources to schools as they work to reopen quickly and safely and equitably, the academic, social and emotional needs of the most affected students by the pandemic. The department is being associated with the Learning Policy Institute to provide research support for the Summit, and the event is open to the public. Those interested in attending can register here.   • Field Lessons: Implementing the K-12 operating strategy of CDC to keep students, educators and personnel safe
  • Representatives of Cleveland, Ohio and New York City, New York will highlight the effective school and district reopening approaches that have an approach in heritage.
  • Participants: Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, Director of CDC, Dr. Rochelle Walensky
  • CDC technical assistance and ED: Implement the CDC guide to keep students, educators and personnel safe
  • CDC and ED technical experts will discuss the CDC K-12 operative strategy, the ED COVID-19 implementation manual, and other resources; answer common questions; and clarify the erroneous concepts.
  • Participants: Dr. Greta Massetti, co-lead of community interventions and the task force of the popular criticisms for CDC response, Donna Harris-Aikens, Senior Policy and Planning Advisor for the Department of Education
  • Moderator: Jessica Cardichon, Deputy Secretary Deputy in the Planning, Evaluation and Development Office for the Department of Education
  • Pre-recorded observations by Vice President Kamala Harris < / Li>
  • Field lessons: Supporting all students: addressing students' academic, social and emotional needs with an approach in equity
  • Representatives of Cajon Valley, California and Tulsa, Oklahoma will share promising strategies to support the social, emotional and academic development needs of students, with a particular focus on students who have historically unattended and have experienced the Greater interruption of the pandemic.
